Seb cyst approx 2 inch and ayurveda
Have seb cyst on center back for last 4-5 years. Now it is grown to 1.5-2 inch visibly but deep must be same or more. Top Allopathy doctors in Chandigarh Tricity suggested surgery. Does ayurveda claim of curing it without surgery? What about cystogrit from Patanjali?

"Sebaceous cysts of 1.5–2 inch size usually require surgical removal if large or symptomatic. Ayurveda or medicines like Cystogrit may help in mild cases or reduce inflammation, but complete removal without surgery is unlikely for large cysts. I suggest you consult me for a personalized plan to manage inflammation and prevent recurrence."

A sebaceous cyst (also called an *epidermoid cyst* or *sebaceous gland cyst*) like the one you describe — **present for 4–5 years and now grown to 1.5–2 inches** — is usually **encapsulated**, meaning it has a **sac wall** filled with keratin or sebum-like material. 👉 In most such cases, **allopathic treatment (minor surgical removal)** is the only **definitive and permanent cure** because: * Once the **capsule forms**, it **does not dissolve** with medicines. * Even if the swelling subsides temporarily with natural or herbal remedies, the sac remains and tends to refill over time. * Larger cysts like yours may also get infected or rupture under the skin, leading to pain or scarring. --- ### 🩺 Why surgeons recommend removal * Surgery involves a **short outpatient procedure**, usually under local anesthesia. * The entire cyst wall is removed, preventing recurrence. * Healing typically takes 1–2 weeks with proper care. ✅ Success rate is high when done by an experienced surgeon. --- ### 🌿 Ayurveda & Herbal Options — Realistic Role * In Ayurveda, sebaceous cysts are often compared to **“Medoj Granthi”**. * Small, early-stage cysts may sometimes reduce with *shodhana* (detoxifying) or *lekhana* (scraping) therapies and herbs. * For **long-standing, encapsulated cysts** like yours, **herbal medicines may help only to control inflammation or prevent infection**, **not to remove the sac**. #### About **Cystogrit** (by Patanjali Ayurved): * It is a polyherbal tablet claimed to “support cyst management.” * It may help in: * Reducing mild swelling/inflammation. * Supporting hormonal balance in ovarian/breast cysts (especially in women). * But ❌ **no scientific evidence shows it can dissolve a sebaceous cyst capsule**, especially of 1.5–2 inch size. --- ### 🪔 Ayurvedic Supportive Measures (if you choose to delay or prepare for surgery) These won’t “cure” the cyst but may: * Prevent secondary infection * Support healing post-surgery * Slow growth if mild inflammation occurs * ******Guggulu** – 2 tabs twice daily after meals (anti-inflammatory, detoxifying). * ******Guggulu** – sometimes used for benign growths (consult a vaidya for dosage). * External: Warm compresses with turmeric paste may soothe the area but **will not shrink the cyst wall**. --- ### ⚠️ When to **not delay surgery**: * Pain, redness, pus discharge * Rapid growth * Bad odor or recurrent infections * Difficulty lying on back due to pressure 👉 These are signs the cyst may be **infected or ruptured**, and surgery becomes **urgent**. --- ✅ **In summary:** * For a cyst of your size and duration, **surgical removal is the most reliable and permanent solution**. * **Cystogrit or other Ayurvedic medicines may support general health but won’t dissolve a mature cyst.** * Ayurveda can be used **as supportive therapy before/after surgery**, but not as a replacement for it in this stage. --- If you’d like, I can also explain **what to expect during and after the surgery**, so you know exactly how simple and low-risk it usually is. Would you like me to outline that? Advice- self medication is hazardous, always consult ayurvedic doctor before taking ayurvedic medicine. Consult me personally for details.
