Hello Schizophrenia is a mental illnes which has biopsychosocial causation means a person with genetic predisposition when exposed to some stressors whether social or psychological( known or unknown) can develop it. This is not something which a person can impose upon self except in malingering where there is feigning of the symptoms of schizophrenia for different gains without actual causation.
