Sciatica for more than a 45 days
I have been diagnosed with sciatica (presumably due to lifting weights in wrong position) First I went to ortho who gave me muscle relaxer and painkillers for 28 days. But since there was less relief I shifted to homeopathy. It has been better for last 7 days but the pain comes and goes through out the day. Usually the pain is in upper left hip, left side slightly above the ankle and when I get up from squat position slightly on the upper side of the back of left knee (thigh). The highest degree of pain is around the ankle whenever it comes. I perform few exercises like leg raises, bhujangasan, superman as suggested by the ortho doctor once in a day. Do I need to perform any scan or will this sciatica go away in few days. Does walking help? I don't walk ideally due to nature of my work. But I have been performing my daily routine tasks normally What period does sciatica lasts? Are there any more exercises which will help?
