Schizophrenia
Namaste Dr., This is for my mother regd. Schizophrenia.
Is there any treatment in ayurveda to effectively treat Schizophrenia. I tried for 3 months and it was fine in the 2nd and 3rd month, but after that the symptoms were horrible to maximum and To control we have admitted her in the hospital and controlled with high dose injections and tablets.

Will not be able to comment about Ayurveda.
However if an elderly patient of schizophrenia is controlled with allopathic medication than please continue that.

I dont think we psychiatrists are informed/competent to talk about Ayurvedic medicines - hope someone knowledgeable in that field will help you out. Having said that, there are many medications in allopathy to handle schizophrenia, should be given in adequate doses and taken regularly. Plz follow-up with your psychiatrist on a regular basis so that such severe episodes can be prevented in future and she is maintained on a medication that suits her well.
