Scaling and polishing
I have never visited a dentist, so this might sound a bit immature, but is ultrasonic scaling a painful process, and what precautions should I take to not let that pain affect me? I'm getting plaque around gum margins and I'm assuming scaling is the only treatment. Also, any particular clinic in Kolkata that goes highly recommended. Thank you!

One can always make a beginning. In India gum problem is the root cause of loss of teeth. Honestly, there may be little sensitivity during Oral Prophylaxis (Scaling and polising). You are not helping yourself by delaying the inevitable.
