Rosuvas 5 mg is a plain film-coated tablet, so splitting it is physically possible, but I would not advise it - a broken half gives you an unreliable dose and the benefit of statins depends on steady daily levels. Also remember your lipids are normal because of the tablet, not instead of it; halving or stopping usually brings LDL back up within weeks. If your only reason is that the dose feels too strong, we reduce it properly with a 2.5 mg preparation, not by cutting.
Next Steps
Continue the whole 5 mg tablet at night and get a lipid profile plus SGOT/SGPT after 3 months. Do not reduce or stop on your own - the decision depends on your LDL target, family history and other risk factors like sugar and blood pressure. Send me your lipid reports through a Practo consult and I will tell you whether a lower dose or alternate-day plan is safe for you.
