ROP stage 3 Zone 3
Hi, For a preterm new born baby suffering from ROP Stage 3 in Zone 3. Which one among laser treatment or Injections like Accentrix IV is better suited considering long term and near term vision aspects ? Secondly, for Injections which one is advisable either Accentrix IV or Lucentis ? Pro's and Con's for both please

Please rely entirely on the retina specialist . Very often both laser and intra vitreal Injection’s are required . Also a close watch has to be kept on the babies as the stage may alter and necessitate additional treatment over time. Maskatieyeclinic Opposite Charni Road station east, Mumbai

Hello I would like to wait for regression. Regular follow up is required. Laser is advised if it progresses. Injections have limited indications. Present scenario does not need injection

Stage 3 zone 3 can be managed with laser also. It depends on the presence of plus disease. Injections can be given alone or in combination with laser. Do follow with the treating retina specialist as this is a very crucial treatment. The treatment can best be delineated by the treating doctor. For this disease do not waste time in deciding on treatment, if the doctor has suggested some treatment, it would be after careful examination of the child's condition only. Have faith. Follow as advised and maintain follow up with the doctor as and when asked to do so. Take care

If it is Zone 3 and Stage 3 laser is standard of care , Both Accentrix and Lucentis is same it is Ranibizumab .
