Had Google been so authentic, nobody would have required a doctors consultation. Please do not believe every random thing that you read on Google. We suggest our patients one simple thing--- if you read any article on Google try to look for the citation of the source of that information because without a reliable source, the information is as good as nonsense. Any procedure can be called as a treatment only when its advantages outweigh its disadvantages.
And root canal treatment is a procedure which is the only method to save even a badly decayed tooth. Millions and millions of patients are getting benefited from this procedure and are able to avoid extraction of the tooth. So all in all it is an extremely safe procedure. If we can perform this procedure on our parents and family members, I hope you will agree that we are firmly clear in our mind that it is extremely safe.
If your tooth is affected with Irreversible pulpitis and you do not opt for root canal treatment then the only option you are left with is extraction of the tooth (and the least I can tell you is that no doctor will suggest an extraction of a functional tooth at your age).
Regards.
