Room Temp 3 mths baby's
What is the ideal room temperature for a 3 months old baby's room? I read some scary articles on SIDS, got a little worried, that, too hot or too cold could be a problem so what is the ample temperature? Also, in a place like Delhi the temperature during the night is also such that you do have to use an air conditioning unit so, what should the temperature be in a baby room any given time of the year- summers or winters?

There are no particular recommendations for room temperatures. The recommendations are specific for the country in which the research was done. so we cannot follow the US or UK recommendations. Ideal room temperature in India can be 22 to 28'C basing on the season and place. 24'C can be the median value. you have to adjust the temperature basing on the comfort of the baby. it should not be too hot or too cold. In summer you can go to lower range i.e. 22 to 24'C. In winters you can go for higher ranges 24-28'C. The important thing you can do to prevent SIDS is you should not leave the baby in the cradle. its better to allow baby to sleep beside you. Do not keep baby directly under cooler or fan. keep baby away from them. use them only to cool the room. Adjust the baby coverings depending on the season. You should not use quilts etc heavy clothing. use light covering to prevent SIDS. Keep baby always in supine position. Baby should not go into prone positions during sleep. Hope this helps you.
