A newborn gains around 20 to 30 gm of weight per day.
We will leave the first 10 days as feeding is not established and child may lose weight too during that period.
So if consider, 25 gm weight gain per day and for 80 days (90-10) = 2000gm. In addition to birth wt of 3kg is equal to 5kg. So perfect!!
Continue your feeding efforts. If child is passing urine 6 to 8 times a day and has rise in weight gain like this then avoid that one feed of formula milk also, keep it exclusive breastfed.
