The probable reason for the pain in the ear while swallowing is due to a common nerve supply to both the back and base of your tongue as well as your ear. If the throat pain is very severe you need to consult an ENT specialist. However if the pain is not severe, then you can start sipping on warm water and do warm water saline gargles 7 to 8 times a day for next 10 days.
