Right Ear Swollen

I have had my ears pierced for 6 years now. About a week ago I put new earrings in and everything was fine. However, over the past week my right ear has become increasingly more sore as the time has gone on. To the point I wasn't able to touch or lean on it. I ended up taking my earrings out tonight, and my ear seems red and swollen, it is incredibly sore. I was wondering what I can do to help this and what it might be?

As per your description you might have developed contact dermatitis due to metal allergy.. take anti-allergic tablet.. visit an ENT specialist or dermatologist for opinion..
