Hello. Your symptoms of left-sided ear pressure, tinnitus, and mixed hearing loss for 6 months need an in-person review by an ENT/otologist rather than further self-treatment.
Please avoid forceful Valsalva or repeatedly trying to “pop” the ear, as this can worsen discomfort or injure the middle ear. Continue medicines only as prescribed; do not start or extend antibiotics, steroids, or allergy medicines without examination.
You should arrange:
- Repeat pure-tone audiometry with speech audiometry and tympanometry.
- Otomicroscopy to check the ear canal, tympanic membrane, and middle ear.
- Nasal and nasopharyngeal examination, especially because the symptoms are one-sided.
- Review of the existing audiogram to determine the conductive and sensorineural components.
- Imaging, such as CT temporal bone or MRI, only if the examination and audiogram indicate it.
Seek urgent care if you develop sudden worsening of hearing, severe vertigo, facial weakness, ear discharge or bleeding, severe headache, fever, or new neurological symptoms. Until reviewed, protect the ear from loud noise, avoid inserting anything into it, and keep a record of when the tinnitus and pressure worsen.
