NATURE OF SPECIMEN:Aspirate from cervical lymph node
Microscopy: Highly cellular smears studied showed many dispersed epithelioid
granulomas on a background showing focal caseous necrosis,occasional Langhan's giant
cell and reactive population of lymphoid cells mixed with blood.
IMPRESSION: FNA Right cervical lymph node shows granulomatous lymphadenitis with
caseous necrosis suggestive of tuberculosis.

The fine needle aspiration cytology report is suggestive of tuberculosis of the lymph nodes. Further investigations are required to confirm the diagnosis such as sputum examination, x ray of the chest and ultrasound of the abdomen.
