My oral surgeon prescribed rexidin m forte gel to apply at extraction site and he said can be swallowed, no problem. Is it okay?

It can be swallowed but it can cause numbing effect in the throat as well which could be quite irritating to the patient. So it’s advisable to gently spit it out. I’m assuming this is not to be applied in first 24 hrs post exaction. ( no spitting in first 24 hrs post extraction)
