I had 2 tiny retinal holes in 1 eye and had Barrage Laser. Can they return or recur? My doctor said my rest of the retina looks healthy apart from the lasered area. Also these holes developed over a period of 3 4 months. Y so quickly? I was having floaters since 3 4 months so did PVD cause the holes to develop? Please answer both my questions. Thanks.

Hello Ma'am..you have got the Barrage laser done and the rest of the Retina is healthy, so nothing to worry about. Recurrence is not predictable. Usually floaters symptoms of PVD gets subsided for most by around 3-4 months. Only in about 15% of patients PVD is complicated with Retinal Holes or Retinal Tear. Maintain regular follow ups with your Retina Specialist atleast 3 monthly for atleast two visits and then 6 monthly for next two visits and then maintain annual detailed dilated eye examination.
