Retinal tears.
I have had myopia since i was 10 years old.By the time i reached the age of fifteen i started noticing flashes and floaters, then i consulted my opthalmologist and he told me that many tears had developed in retinas of both my eyes and they needed to be sealed as soon as possible so laser barrage of these tears was done. Now i am 18 years old and new tears have developed again.what i want to ask is,is it okay to get these tears barraged by laser again and again? Are there any side effects of laser barrage? Till what age does the risk of formation of new tears persists?

Myopic retina is weak & unhealthy  retina, once laser for peripheral degeneration is done ,it should not happen again but it do require  regular check up at least once a year, if doctor has advised you again for laser, you should follow his advice but you take opinion from another retina specialist, really it needs 2nd laser photocoagulation ,if advised do  go laser photocoagulation  otherwise it may lead to retinal detachment  which will require major surgery & you will not get original vision after spending  lots of money & lots of mental trauma,Dr Arjun kr Singh Patna
