Retainer Query
My braces are about to come off & I'm confused which type of retainer I should wear? I was thinking of taking Permanent retainer but I'm scared of teeth shifting. I don't understand if Essix retainer is put for all the teeth to prevent teeth movement then in case of permanent retainer why is permanent retainer put only to the upper & lower front 6 teeth, Wouldn't the rest of the teeth move in case of permanent retainer? Please advise whether I should take permanent or Essix retainer? (Do mention reason)

Both of them have their pros and cons. I would suggest you to visit your orthodontist and clear all of your questions. Your dentist will treat, advise and provide the best for you.

Discuss your query in detail with your orthodontist as he is the best judge for this situation because he has evaluated the case clinically and knows about the type of malocclusion you had and the treatment steps that have been undertaken till now. Regards.

Hello, I would suggest you to opt for the removable retainers for 6-8 months. Not everyone has a relapse. So why the permanent retainers?
