A hairline fracture is a minor fracture not a big thing to worry about Usually it will heal in 3-6 weeks In case of any swelling or inflammation Rest, ice therapy, compression, elevation is advised keeping the thumb elevated to help reduce swelling applying a cloth-covered ice pack to the thumb, which can help reduce pain and swelling wrapping the affected thumb with a cloth bandage or wrap, usually in a straight position, as this can help keep the thumb from moving and further injuring the bones Can take any anti-inflammatory for pain such an ibuprofen or diclofenac Can use a wrist splint with a thumb peice Hope this helps:)

This is the X ray of  left hand. There is evidence of fracture of one of the small bones in the left thumb. You should consult an Orthopaedic surgeon or a General Surgeon in your area as soon as possible. (But you can go for a consultation tomorrow morning)
