Renal transplant
My father is a dialysis patient from 1 year , we had plan for renal transplant and my sister is a donor..all the tests completed .. everything is fine ..but doctors rejected the transplant due to left leg has more than 40% blockage and told it will be risky as viens are soft and can potential amputation if the transplant is done..is there any way to remove blockage My father has diabetes from 30 years and has BP

Hi, as you told the history, this is not an absolute contraindication for renal allograft transplant, we've transplanted many of such cases even more severe than this. In renal angiography of the recipient usually does when he's diabetic and above 60's to see about the calcification of vessels, in such case we start Anticoagulation as early as possible, this is also not an absolute contraindication. You can change the donor but cannot deny the recipient.
