Recently I have noticed my mom law pestering me either she calls or msg me to ask whether I have breast fed or given formula milk in wati spoon and not bottle. She has gone to the extent of even making the milk bottle nipple hole big using needle as she feels how long my son will suck. Her mentality she thinks she's a doctor. How to handle such person? How many times he has peed or done potty full details she wants. Its very depressing i feel low. Nowadays no one ask well being of mother only if child. She behaves as though it's her son and not mine. My son when cranky doesn't take breast milk only formula milk. My husband says ignore her she's old how we will tel her to change. Now I'm waiting when my son turns one I'll join work being in the house 4 walls makes me go mad.

Hello New Mother,
Congratulations on your precious role. Your state of mind is totally understandable.
The conditioning is such that everybody around tries to be in charge of the situation, totally undermining the wellbeing of the mother at times.
It is difficult to make people understand , especially in their age and stage of life.
Trying to do it ,can be exhaustive as well.
Keep your mindset focused on your health.
It is okay if others are leading the show as long as the child's best interest is protected.
Accept and go with the flow as resistance will cause unnecessary friction for all.
Take care of your diet, sleep, any mild exercise or multivitamins as prescribed by your doctor. Engage in mediation, reading books, or whatever elevates you.
Adjust the lens to your child's moments that you would like to capture, blurring all else in the background.
Counseling sessions can give you a safe, empathetic, non judgemental space to express and navigate your parenting journey in a good space.
You can consult for further professional guidance.

Hello
I hope reading the posts of the experts you are working towards change.
In my opinion there are particular events in our life where we face adjustment issues. Events like marriage, becoming a parent, divorce, personal loss , moving to a new place or a city, etc. when we face such situations it sometimes leads to identity issues where we start to doubt who we are. I dearly understand your concern about the baby and mother in law but the major concern which I observe is that of taking care of self.
Even when everyone is focusing on the baby's health you need to take out some time for your care and take some time to process this motherhood.
When the family undergoes change everyone tries to make their place in their new role some over do it as you mentioned your mother in law.
I frequently give this advice to my clients that when you think you cannot control what's going around you try to master what is within you and ones you master that you will know the work is done!
Next Steps
Change takes time and it is a process which we need to work up on. I will suggest you to take counseling for learning the techniques which help you control and master yourself.

I'm sorry to hear about your challenging situation with your mother-in-law. Setting boundaries is crucial. Have a calm conversation with her, explaining your choices for your child. May be also letting her know what you are going through without blaming might allow her to see you in the situation.
To manage your stress and anxiety, try breathing exercises like box breathing and the 4-7-8 technique. Writing down your feelings can also help you process your emotions. Start with the notes app on your phone.
