My mother with Diabetes and Hypertension since 12 years.. Controlled on medications,  has been taking Ecosprin AV 75/20 since November 2018 daily. Are there any side effects to this and should there be Aspirin free intervals ?

Side effects of aspirin are gastritis mainly.. Benefit is primarily preventing heart attacks and ischemic stroke.. With minor risk for bleeding.. But benefit is questionable with some recent studies.. In case she has not much of side effects can continue taking it. If no previous procedures like angioplasty and if there are side effects you can stop the medicine also..
Next Steps
Wil need work up for measuring ischemic burden.. And risk for bleeding.. Would advice a physician visit for the same.. Not urgent.. But better to discontinue once detailed assessment done

Aspirin for primary prevention has doubtful role. Of she has had no heart attack no angioplasty or bypass or stroke in past then I think she can stop aspirin and continue with plain atorvastatin 20 mg. The side effects of aspirin include gastritis, GI bleeding and other minor bleeds.
