Any carcinoma is harmful. Curable or not depends on stage. To know one is having or not, requires proper history and symptoms like pain, irritation, swelling or ulcer in throat, difficulty in swallowing with proper evaluation with mri/ct scan and biopsy for co firmed diagnosis.

Any cancer is definitely harmful . To know or diagnose regarding that you should visit a ENT surgeon get examined and if required should confirm it by biopsy and CT scan . The treatment depends on the stage if the carcinoma

Its general question about tonsillar carcinoma. Patients should be asked for any habits like smoking, alcohol, any chronic irritants. If any one of these history is there, risk of cancer can be suspected. There are some causes where these habits wont be responsible, like lymphoma. Needs proper examination and gross growth seen on tonsil, then need for biopsy to know the type of cancer. Treatment of tonsillar cancer is treatable and there are many modes radiotherapy, if biopsy type not favorable need for surgery, but finally has good prognosis, responds well

The diagnosis is by biopsy The treatment depends on stage of disease, however the standard treatment is radiation therapy with or without chemotherapy. Surgery is an option in an early small disease or in very advanced stage. This treatment is for squamous cell carcinoma If it’s lymphoma the treatment would be chemotherapy
