Regarding the use of oil
Hi doctor... My family uses sunflower svs oil for daily cooking use.. I have read in my nutrition studies that rice bran oil is the healthiest option.. But there are confusions here as some people say that the rice bran oil is not good for health.. Can you please tell me which oil is the healthiest option for cooking daily meals.. And what is mean by unrefined oil and what is it.. Thank you

1) The verdict is still not out as to which is the best cooking medium 2) Indian cooking for centuries, has been based on mustard, home made ghee, peanut or coconut oil. There is a lot of regional variation in oil usage. 3) Unrefined oil is what is known as kachi ghani. Oil that is usually made in small scale industries or villages. If you ask your parents they would tell you. In our generation we call it “ Extra Virgin”..... I am sure you would know that 4) Refining is basically done to remove all the bad odour from oil. The process is to heat it at very high temperatures and than cool it. In this way the odour goes away and also some of the benefits. And in this heating cooling etc a lot of toxicity’s are added. 5) I use Ghee and mix of peanut and mustard oil 6) I don’t think oil has a huge role in diseases, carbohydrates are a bigger killer
