Omnacortil is a steroid syrup. It is used for allergic asthma and other autoimmune or allergic response (not related to your symptoms)
If child has only cold and cough, then regular syrup can solve the issue.
If the child has retractions in the neck or chest or has fast breathing, then the doctor may have prescribed it for decreasing the allergic response.
