Hello Doctors,
I have a query. Because of the back pain I just got a electric "HOT" mat. I just wanted to know if I can lay down on my hot mat right after the food or should I wait. Do I need to be empty stomach or not? Are there any particular set of rules to follow or not?
Thankyou in advance.

It is advisable to keep 'an hour gap' before/after having food.
You need NOT be empty stomach but '1 hour gap' should be given.
*No rules; just make sure it is 'comfortably warm' and that you 'stay awake' while having hot pack.
*It is advisable to take hot pack for 10 minutes (you can remove earlier if it is not warm anymore) If possible, take normal rubber hot water bottle (wrap it in a layer of towel) than the electric one or go to a nearby physiotherapy clinic for hot pack.
Health Tips
'Two positions' can be used : Either lying on your back (with both knees bent) OR lying on your stomach/belly.
You should find out the root cause for your back pain.
Hot mat will give you temporary relief. You can use it either way before food or after food.
You should consult a physiotherapist in person for complete assessment and treatment.
Hi,
You should get assessed to find the reason of your back pain.
& about using heating pad - 1) Don't use empty stomach & 2) if you eat a meal wait for atleast 40min before applying it.
If you want to use hot pack electric to reduce back pain, you need to lie on your back and keep thr mat on the back.
You need to take food after heating or if you have taken food then you need to wait for atleast 30 mins, if not there will vlbe other problems that arises due gases and muscle tightness.
Instead using hot water fermentation will be more helpfull than electric hot mat.
Instead of using hot mat u can use hot water fermentation to exact location of pain, because other parts of ur back doesn't need hot therapy it may cause redness, and burnt ur skin
Better to do before food in electric mat,if u want to try after food u can after 1 hr of food.
