Propranolol as mentioned is used for wide variety of conditions involving hearth rhythm, heart failure, coronary artery disease, hypertension, hyperthyroidism, pheochromocytoma, migraine, restless leg syndrome, anxiety, phobias, essential tremors, infantile hemangioma and is used extensively in medicine. It's a Beta blocker, given for anxiety related illnesses, panic disorder, migrane and certain kinds of headache and sometimes for other purposes off label at the discretion of the psychiatrist ( some specific bodily complaints) . It can also lower ones blood pressure, but isn't typically given as an antidepressant.
