It is normal as long as the baby’s abdomen is soft and the baby is feeding well.
Breast milk contains about 80–90% water, so it is easily digestible and does not cause any problem with digestion.
Avoid changing breasts too frequently during a feed. The milk at the beginning (foremilk) is thinner and higher in lactose; excess foremilk intake may sometimes lead to loose stools. The milk toward the end (hindmilk) is thicker and richer in fat, which helps in satiety and healthy weight gain.
Allow the baby to completely finish one breast before switching to the other. At the next feed, start from the breast where you previously stopped.
During winter, a mild delay in passing stools can also be normal.
Overall, there is no cause for concern.
