Reflux with laryngomalacia
My baby is 3 and half months old ..She has laryngomalacia..She has been spitting a lot ( almost after every feed) for the last one month..Sometimes the spitting is curd like .sometime normal milk like but quantity is a bit more..Her weight is 5.250...Her birth weight was 2.4...She had Bronchiolities when she was one month old .. yesterday we vaccinated her .doc has given domstal baby drops and nexpro junior upto 6 months.. My question is ,can these medicines be given upto this long period (almost 2.5 months)...I heard these medicines have side effects..can I give her these medicines for so long?

Yes..these meds can be given for long especially in view of Gastroesophageal reflux causing recurrent vomiting and respiratory issues( bronchiolitis, aspiration pneumonia)
Next Steps
although weight at this point is fine but in future we never know about appropriate weight gain with persistent Gastro esophageal reflux. pls consult a Pediatrician for GERD and Sandifer syndrom

Hi Nexpro junior can be given for mentioned time frame . Once 5 month old you can add nestum rice cereal to make feed thicker That helps Wedge pillow for reflux can be used .

Nexpro can be given for that duration. Domstal is usually given for a week only. Please take a second opinion. Treatment for gastro esophageal reflux is needed only if weight gain is not adequate

Yes these medications (anti reflux) can be given for that long Weight gain of the baby is appropriate as of now Laryngomalacia usually resolves spontaneously by 12-24 months of age depending on the severity.
