Re: Blood pressure
My brother's age 45 has high BP problem. Initially took telmisartan 40 mg, now reduced to 20 mg and BP is somewhat controlled with this medicine. But, yesterday night during sleep his BP was low and went down to 70/40. Is it normal? or should be consulted with doctor on this issue? Thank you for your kind suggestion.

Home BP monitoring or a ABPM can be used in his case to assess his blood pressure fluctuations, it will give us 24 hour assessment and readings of his BP. Accordingly the medicine has to be titrated or even discontinued if not required. If he has any symptoms while having low blood pressure it mandate to stop his current medication and keep a close watch on his BP.
