My 4m old baby keeps on grunting for most of the day - more during the evening and night. Keeps waking at night. She stretches her hands and legs and makes continuous grunts.
She is also prone to vomiting and and throws up from nose and mouth quite often. All of these are more during the evening to night. Mornings are better..
Upon talking to her pediatrician, he gave Neopeptine drops (5 drops twice daily for 5 days).
He is also suspecting overfeeding. And has asked me to feed her every 4-hourly during the day and on demand at night.
While I am okay with the meds ut I'm not sure about the feeding part, she pees more than 15 -18 times a day. Currently she feeds almost every hourly or at max once in 2 hours (only if I am not available)
Kindly suggest...also how do I know that she is overfeeding or not?
Ps - she is currently exclusively on direct breastfeed.
She has lactose intolerance - was partially on low lactose formula till 1 month ago.

Breast feeding every 2-3 hours 8s good enough. 1 hourly feed means the child is wanting comfort feeding, not actually hungry.
Also vomiting could be because of posture as well as excessive feeds .
Gastro esophageal reflux needs to be kept in mind.
Keep a watch over the weight and try and keep the baby a little upright by raising the head and shoulders a little and see if it helps.
Burping after feeds will help with any trapped gas.
Next Steps
meet a pediatrician if this doesn't work.
Health Tips
keep the baby slightly lateral to avoid any aspiration of vomits.

This grunting indicates colic. So give colic drops. Also syrup Nutrolin B 2.5ml twice a day for 5 days. No need to worry about the vomiting if weight is ok. Colic and digestion issues can lead to vomiting. It is a temporary phase. Feed on demand but 1 hourly is too much. Try to feed 2 or 3 hourly. No formula please.
Feeding interval should be 2-3 hrs. 4 hrly feeding is bit delayed.
Moniter weight gain.
Try exclusive breastfeeding..With this practice overfeeding will not happen
Practice on demand feed till 6 months of age
See for what reasons the baby cries, like after voiding urine , stools or for sleep or hunger
Don’t give formula feed
