Query for vaccination
I am enquiring for my male kid who is now around 2.5 years old .Almost all the mandate vaccines have been given till now ,rest are due at the age of 5 .Just wanted to enquire about 2 vaccines - Japanese encephalitis & meningococcal ,are these mandate to take for the kid as these have been mentioned in the non mandate list & also after discussion with paed .Main paed is saying yes to take ,however others have mixed responses .Just checking up here for the responses once.

Yes take it. Because Japanese encephalitis is a deadly disease, so is meningococcal meningitis. It is better to immunize if vaccine is available.

Japanese encephalitis is quite common throughout India now. This vaccine is given in government hospitals also in many states. Please do take it. Meningococcus bacteria causes many serious infections like meningitis and sepsis. That is a little rare but life threatening. You should take it if you can afford to. We need all the protection we can get
