Depends on which cancer you are talking about and what genetic mutations we are considering. There are genetic syndrome which can increase risk of cancer, syndromes like BRCA 1 or 2, HNPCC increase lifetime risk in levels of 70-80% or sometimes even more. But most cancers that we see typically in advanced age are not genetics related though you can always attribute a small percentage to it. As you mentioned - cancer of lymph nodes - almost all cancers can spread to lymph nodes in some stages - which is is actually progression of the disease not much genetically related If you are talking about lymphomas - not all are having genetic predispositions. Some inherited genetic syndromes, such as Li-Fraumeni syndrome and Bloom syndrome, have been associated with an increased risk of developing lymphoma. But as such no they are mostly associated with other risk factors like some virus more than genetic factors .

Lymph nodes cancer is called lymphoma. Lymphoma is not genetic, but a family history of the condition can increase someone’s risk of developing it.
