Hi I am having sore throat and cold since last 3 days or so. During this time noticing that my pulse has become a bit increased between 95-120 during rest also sometimes. I am regularly on beta blocker Starpress XL25. Is this rise in pulse due to throat infection?

Please follow it for sore throat -
1. Over-the-counter pain relievers: Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen can help reduce pain and inflammation in the throats.
2. Throat lozenges or sprays: These can provide temporary relief by numbing the throat or soothing irritation. Look for products that contain ingredients like benzocaine or menthol.
3. Warm saltwater gargles: Mixing one-half teaspoon of salt in eight ounces of warm water and gargling it can help reduce inflammation and alleviate discomfort in the throat.
4. Hydration: Drinking plenty of fluids, such as water or warm herbal teas, can help keep the throat moist and relieve discomfort.
5. Avoid irritants: Avoiding smoking, secondhand smoke, and other irritants like air pollution or dry air can help reduce throat irritation.
6. Steam inhalation: Inhaling steam from a bowl of hot water or using a humidifier can help soothe the throat and relieve congestion.
7. Rest and voice rest: Giving the vocal cords a break and getting plenty of rest can help the throat heal faster.
8. Antibiotics (if necessary): Sore throats caused by bacterial infections, such as strep throat, may require antibiotic treatment like Cefi-O/BD/5 days. However, most sore throats are viral in nature and do not require antibiotics.
9. Natural remedies: Some individuals find relief with natural remedies such as honey and lemon, herbal teas (e.g., chamomile, licorice root), or throat sprays that contain natural ingredients like propolis or marshmallow root extract.
Please continue to follow the prescribed instructions for taking your blood pressure medications and regularly monitor your blood pressure readings at home.
