Pulmonary Fibrosis
I don’t know if you’ll be able to answer this but I had to ask. My friend was just diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. She’s 17 and it was caught early, but I’m still really scared. The Internet says she has around 5 years to live. Is this true? Or, since she’s so young and it was caught so early, can she expect decades more? I’m really scared for her and shocked about this diagnosis. She said it’s probably due to cleaning products and maybe genetics (her dad had asthma).

Hi. I understand your concern s. IPF is rare in this early age. Needs a detailed work up. And lung transplant can be an option for her considering the young age. Consult a pulmonologist for the same at the earliest
