Psychiatric medicine confusion
I have Illness Anxiety disorder, panic attacks, negative thinking and thought since last 12 yrs.. I have taken Escitalopram 10 for 9 years, Vilazodone for 3 yrs, Paraoxetene, Vortioxetine, Sertraline, Desvenlafaxine, for 1 month each but it all gave me really bad constipation..Now I have consulted 2 doctors , one is telling me to Take Fluoxetine 40 mg with Risperidone 0.5 mg and 1 is telling me to take fluoxetine plus Franxit...I am really scared of the tricyclics and typical psychotics because of side effects...I have tried mirtazapine as well but it gives me sensory disturbance..So I am confused which doctor to follow., for less side effect as I have bad constipation and sleep issue as well..One also told me to take fluvaxamine which has a lot of drug interactions...Please suggest..

I want to acknowledge how much courage it takes to voice these struggles. Often, we treat mental health as a matter of 'willpower,' but as a physician, I can tell you that what you are experiencing has a real biological and neurological basis. Your brain, like any other organ, can sometimes struggle to maintain balance under stress. Seeking treatment isn't a sign of failure; it’s a proactive medical decision to regain your quality of life. We can work together to understand the 'why' behind these feelings and find a structured path back to your baseline. You don't have to navigate this alone.
