Prolonged menstrual bleeding
I have prolonged menstrual bleeding for more than 20 days now my last period was at 19 june and My pelvic ultrasound, thyroid profile, CBC, and serum prolactin are all normal. I have been said to take Regestrone 10 mg twice daily for 20 days. Is it safe to take? Will it help stop my bleeding, and can I expect my menstrual cycle to become regular after completing the course?

Hi first of all you have to take this medicine for 20 days ..then when you stop you will have bleeding just like periods and then it will stop. Secondly this is just to manage this bleeding that has been going on for 20 days You need to get evaluated for what the problem is .. Weight ...pcos..excess sugar intake ..lack of exercise..junk food.. Or something else.. Then you have to manage the underlying cause so it doesn't happen again Also please do not wait for the bleeding to stop for 20 days...get your Hemoglobin evaluated by CBC test ..get help if bleeding doesn't stop timely
