Hello,
I have been living with mild ulcerative colitis for the last two years.
Initially my doctor prescribed me antibiotics,antispasmodics, probiotics vsl3 and econorm for four months and then later on I was taking vsl3 for many months .
My concern is vsl3 has some issue with availability in many of the medical shops very oftenly due to its cold storage and high price.
So I have started using VELGUT pre probiotics.Will it be have the same eficacy or benefit as vsl3 and econorm.And does the number of CFU's really matter??
Please let me know which is a better probiotic inbetween vsl3 , econorm or velgut which has both the bacterias but in less CFU'S.

The original drug VSL 3 (name patented by sun pharma) contains Bacterias produced by another company. The company which use to produce bacterial strain for VSL #3 has given licence to visbiome now. So original Bacterial species studied in trial is available only with visbiome. Sun company sell vsl #3 but they have procured different Bacterias than original one. The new VSL might have same efficacy as original one. But original Bacterial species will be available on visbiome, so you can take that one.
