Ulcerative colitis
I have been prescribed prednisolone 40 mg OD for ulcerative colitis. I HAVE PR BLEED. today is day 5 of taking steroids along with mesacol and entofoam enema. Took mesacol since 20 th November. Bleeding has not stopped. No other symptoms. I pass stools once daily. How long will steroids take to work? Please advise.

Hi.
Need to look your sigmoid or colonoscopy report. If oral steroid not working then may need IV also for short while.
