What are the safe days for a woman not to get pregnant? I need help in this

If the cycle s regular..safe days are from day 1 to day 7..and then again from day 22 to day 30..provided cycles are regular.. And counting day of start of periods as day 1. But this method has high failure rates.. As many times egg release time varies too.
