Not advised. Without going into much details, a proton pump inhibitor, as the name suggests, inhibits gastric acid secretion by inhibiting the release of H+ Hence, prolonged use of PPIs would result would impede/reduce the natural ability of the body to produce gastric acid, causing another problem
