Is PPD test reliable. My sister's PPD test has been done last week and its positive with induration  20MM(what does that mean).

Why is the test done for ur sister,it is significant if it is 20mm but needs to be correlated with other history and investigations regarding her immunity status etc

Ppd test is called Mantoues test. It is positive in most of the Indian adults,specially, those who are vaccinated with bcg if it is strong positive,like 20 MM,it must be correlated with other symptoms, and diagnosis has to be done.Hence Pl consult Pulmonologist online with all the reports and treatment taken.
