Back pain after a C-section is common. It usually happens due to muscle weakness, posture strain, and Vata imbalance after delivery. The treatments advised to you are correct. Along with oil massage and pottali, you may continue: Dashmoolarishta as advised Warm water fomentation on the back Proper rest and back support while feeding Pain usually improves gradually within a few weeks.
Next Steps
Continue the treatment regularly for 2–3 weeks Maintain correct posture while breastfeeding For detailed evaluation and personalised guidance, you may consider booking a video consultation. This helps in planning safe postnatal care, especially during breastfeeding.
Health Tips
Avoid massage or heat on the surgery scar Do not start new medicines without doctor advice Consult a doctor if pain becomes severe or radiates to the legs

Post-partum (C-section ke baad) back pain kaafi common hota hai aur zyadatar Vata imbalance + muscle weakness ki wajah se hota hai. Aapko jo treatment bataya gaya hai bilkul sahi hai. Aap ye follow karein: • Dhanvantaram Kuzhambu se daily gentle oil massage • Kolakulathadi churna pottali / hot fomentation (scar area avoid karein) • Dashmoolarishta 10–15 ml, din me 2 baar, khane ke baad Extra support ke liye (agar pain zyada ho): • Rasna Saptak Kashayam 40 ml din me 2 baar (garam pani ke sath) (breastfeeding me generally safe hota hai) Saath me: • Proper rest lein • Breastfeeding ke waqt back support use karein • Thanda pani aur zyada jhukna avoid karein Usually 3–4 weeks me pain gradually kam ho jata hai. Agar pain badhe, pair me jaye ya fever ho to review zaroor karayein.

Congratulations on your delivery. Back pain around 3 weeks postpartum, especially after a C-section, is very common due to surgical healing, post-pregnancy Vata aggravation, weak core muscles and posture strain during feeding. The treatment already advised to you is appropriate and sufficient at this stage: • Dhanwantharam Kuzhambu Abhyanga • Kola-kulathadi churna pottali sweda • Dashmoolarishta
Next Steps
If pain persists beyond 4–6 weeks, therapies like Kati Basti and mild internal medicines for Vata pacification can be considered after confirming proper wound healing.
Health Tips
Use a postpartum abdominal binder for back support Maintain proper feeding posture with back support Avoid bending forward and lifting weight suddenly Take warm, easily digestible food and avoid cold exposure

First—congratulations 🤍 And yes, what you’re experiencing is **very common at ~3 weeks postpartum**, especially after a **C-section**. Your body is still healing from **surgery + pregnancy-related Vata aggravation**, so back pain is expected—but it *can* be relieved safely. Your doctor’s plan is actually **very appropriate**. Let me add what else can help *without disturbing C-section healing or breastfeeding*. --- ## What you’re already advised (✔️ correct) * *****Kuzhambu Abhyanga** → best oil for postnatal Vata pacification * ******Churna potli** → excellent for muscle stiffness & low back pain * ******* → reduces inflammation, supports uterine & musculoskeletal recovery So the foundation is strong 👍 --- ## Additional SAFE & EFFECTIVE measures after C-section ### 1️⃣ Gentle Kati Basti (ONLY if incision is healed) 🟡 Start **after 4–6 weeks**, or earlier *only if your surgeon confirms wound healing* * Oil: *****taila or ***taila** * Duration: 20 minutes * Frequency: 5–7 days ➡️ Very effective for deep-seated back pain --- ### 2️⃣ Oral Ayurvedic support (breastfeeding-safe) Ask your doctor if these can be added: * ****Guggulu** – 1 tab *once daily* after food (excellent for postnatal joint & back pain) * *****Kalpa** – 1 tsp with warm milk ✔️ Supports recovery + lactation + tissue healing > ⚠️ Avoid self-starting strong medicines—confirm dosage with your vaidya. --- ### 3️⃣ Simple home measures that REALLY matter #### 🔸 Heat therapy * Warm water bag on lower back **2× daily** * Especially after oil massage #### 🔸 Posture care (very important after C-section) * Always **support your back while feeding** * Avoid bending forward while lifting baby * Sit with **feet supported, back straight** Poor posture is a **major hidden cause** of persistent pain. --- ### 4️⃣ Diet to reduce Vata & pain Include: * Warm foods, soups, dal, ghee * Ajwain + jeera + hing in cooking * Warm water only Avoid: * Cold foods, curd at night * Excess tea/coffee * Dry, packaged foods Pain will NOT settle if digestion (Agni) is weak. --- ### 5️⃣ Very gentle movements (after 3–4 weeks) Only if your doctor allows: * Light walking * Pelvic tilts * No crunches, no forward bending yet --- ## ⚠️ When to seek review urgently * Pain worsening instead of improving * Fever, wound pain, or numbness/tingling in legs * Severe pain radiating to legs --- ### 🌸 Bottom line You are **still early postpartum**. With: ✔️ Abhyanga + Potli ✔️ **** ✔️ Heat + posture correction ✔️ Gentle internal support 👉 Most women feel **significant relief within 2–4 weeks**. If you want, tell me: * Is your incision fully healed? * Are you breastfeeding exclusively? * Where exactly is the pain (lower back / upper back / tailbone)? I’ll fine-tune the plan just for you 💛 Advice- self medication is hazardous, always consult ayurvedic doctor before taking ayurvedic medicine. Consult me personally for details
