Most fractures can heal without surgery too.
Now that you have gone for surgery and the plate is broken, this complicates your healing process.
1st get the plate removed.
If you want to give natural healing a chance then wait for 6 months for bone to heal itself.
If lucky it may heal in 1 to 2 months.
If still not healing after 6 months then you have to choose... You can choose to leave it as it is of your daily activities are normal and you don't feel any weakness in arm. Many people like fully functional lives with a broken clavicle which never healed!
Or you can choose to get it operated with another plate and bone graft from waist region.
And again wait for healing 1-6months.
Sounds scary I know but you will be fine either way.
Take vitamin d injection for help in healing

Health Tips
reassure yourself that you will be fine either way.
Hi,
You need to get this operated again, the plate should be removed and fixation with bone grafting should be done.
