Post Extraction Care
I've just my lower second last molar extracted last evening due to excessive decay. Apparently was a traumatic extraction. Following I did after that - Bite on gauge for 30-45 mins, eat ice cream, and had a bit of curd rice after 30-40 mins. Took my medications as prescribed. Dentist has advised no brush/rinse/spitting for 48 hours. And cold food (ice cream, juice, curd rice) for 48 hours. Post that, start with warm food, warm water, and stuff. Just wanted to know when do I start brushing/rinsing? Should I start salt water rinse after 48 hours? What should be diet after 48 hours? When can I resume normal food?

Follow the instructions as advised by your dentist and after 48 hours post-extraction: 1. You can gradually resume normal activities and diet. 2. Continue gentle oral hygiene practices, avoiding the extraction site. 3. Rinse with warm saltwater (1/2 teaspoon salt in 8 ounces water) 2-3 times a day. 4. If prescribed, complete the full course of antibiotics. 5. Monitor the extraction site for signs of healing or potential complications. If you experience persistent pain, swelling, or bleeding, contact your dentist for further guidance.

Your dentist has advised all essential instructions.   As long as your brush does not injure the site of surgery , you can delicately brush today. Start your regular meals but be careful not to Injure the area. Hard and spicy better be avoided for another 2 days.
