My father is 76 years old and he underwent angioplasty on 6th January 2025. From that day till now they have been lying in bed. He has a 52 gram Postate's tumor, so he has a silicone catheter. Both of his legs are severely swollen. Feet are injured and water is coming out. They do not have BP and sugar. He also has knee pain and arthritis. I want to get treatment from one doctor for all the above. So which kind of doctor should I take this treatment.

One Doctor will be a General Physician.
Otherwise for the follow up regarding Angioplasty he will have to consult a Cardiologist and for the prostate problem he will have to consult a Urologist.
Occasional reference to an Orthopedic surgeon.
Your fatherâs condition requires a multi-specialty approach, but the best primary doctor to consult would be a Geriatrician (specialist in elderly care) or an Internal Medicine specialist. They will manage his overall health and coordinate care with other specialists if needed.
Since he has multiple issues:
Cardiologist â For post-angioplasty care.
Urologist â For prostate tumor and catheter management.
Vascular Specialist â For leg swelling and wound care.
Rheumatologist / Orthopedic Doctor â For knee pain and arthritis.
A Geriatrician or Internal Medicine specialist can be the main doctor, managing everything and referring to specific specialists as needed.

**Dear Concerned Family Member,**
Your father’s condition requires comprehensive multidisciplinary care due to multiple issues: post-angioplasty recovery, severe lower limb edema (swelling), possible venous insufficiency or heart-related fluid retention, infected foot wounds, prostate tumor with catheter dependency, and arthritis. Here’s what I recommend:
1. **Primary Specialist**: Start with a **Geriatrician** or **Internal Medicine Specialist** (MD Medicine) to coordinate care. They will manage BP/sugar (if fluctuating), swelling, and overall recovery post-angioplasty.
2. **Additional Consults**:
- **Urologist**: For prostate tumor and catheter management.
- **Cardiologist**: To evaluate heart function and swelling causes.
- **Orthopedic/Rheumatologist**: For arthritis and knee pain.
- **Wound Care Specialist**: For foot injuries with discharge (may need antibiotics or dressings).
**Urgent Action**: The foot wounds with discharge suggest infection risk—seek immediate attention to prevent sepsis.
**Why Consult Me?**
As a **Senior Consultant in Internal Medicine with expertise in complex geriatric cases**, I can streamline his care, collaborate with other specialists, and ensure holistic treatment.
