From the report and symptoms (fever and stomach pain for about 2 months), a few findings are important: • Hemoglobin: 9.7 g/dL → indicates Anemia (low blood level). • Platelets: 1.27 lakh → slightly low. • ESR: 100 → very high, which usually indicates significant inflammation or infection in the body. • Bilirubin (Total 1.6, Direct 1.0) → mildly elevated, suggesting possible liver or biliary system irritation. • Malaria test is negative, and WBC count is within the lower-normal range. Because he has recurrent fever and abdominal pain for 2 months with a very high ESR, this suggests a chronic infection or inflammatory condition rather than a simple viral illness. Conditions like chronic infection, liver/biliary infection, tuberculosis, or gastrointestinal inflammation need to be ruled out.
Next Steps
Your father should undergo further evaluation soon. Important tests usually recommended in this situation include: • Ultrasound of the abdomen (to check liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen). • CRP test to assess active inflammation. • Blood culture if fever continues. • Widal test / Typhoid testing if clinically suspected. • Peripheral smear and iron studies to evaluate the anemia. • Possibly chest X-ray if chronic infection like TB needs to be ruled out. Since he is 60 years old and has fever for 2 months, it is important that he consults a physician or internal medicine specialist soon rather than only treating symptoms.
Health Tips
• Ensure he drinks adequate fluids and eats light nutritious food to help recovery. • Include iron-rich foods (green vegetables, dates, lentils, eggs if non-vegetarian) to support anemia. • Monitor daily temperature and note if fever occurs at a particular time of day. • Avoid self-medicating with antibiotics repeatedly without identifying the cause. Because the ESR is very high and symptoms have lasted for 2 months, it would be best to review the full history and reports carefully. You can book an online consultation so I can analyze the report in detail and guide you on the exact tests and treatment your father should start next.

The investigations are suggestive of low haemoglobin and raised ESR suggestive of some infective etiology . Stomach ache with fever that too recurrent episodes , you should consult someone from gastroenterology Also ideal to get one upper GI endoscopy to rule out conditions…. Other reports look normal
