Plaque in Dog and cat teeth

Hello, my older dogs are having lots of deposit of plaque that has become thick coating and one of them has teeth spoiled eaten by germs. I am planning to introduce baked chicken legs for plague buildup as i have heard they take care of dental health. Tell some cosf effective options as I have several pets. Also suggest for cats.
