Is Pioglitazone hydrochloride 15 mg and metformin hydrochloride 500 mg safe for diabetic who are taking insulin twice a day, is there any heart failure side effects, if no then why pioglitazone drug banned once in India.

Ya pioz was banned earlier suspecting increased cardiovascular events.
But later multiple landmark trials have been conducted on this group of antidiabetics ( thiazolidenediones) especially IRIS trial have shown cardiovascular safety of this drug..
So it's a safe drug to be used in diabetics.
This drug is not preferable in known cardiac patient.
