PILONIDAL SINUS
I was diagnosed with pilonidal sinus one week back.The tract is very small as said by the surgeon and he said they have to do a surgery and remove it. A a college student I have exams in upcoming days so can I wait till december for the surgery as It will greatly hamper my exams and academics

Yes. You can wait. Pilonidal sinus becomes an emergency if it is infected. So when you have no pain,  waiting for 3-4 months is quite OK.

Yes, you can wait and get it excised at some convenient time. Till then get it treated conservatively with antibiotics, anti inflammatory medicines and local cleaning. Cover it with a pad to prevent entry of hairs in sinus.

Yeah ,definitely you can wait till your exam because you have no major sign and symptom. When you have infection in the pilonidal  sinus then you can take symptomatic treatment after taking consultation.
